Department staff

2 doctors of the 1^st category work in the department. The department capacity-30 beds. The department is placed on the 3^rd floor of the 4-storeyed surgical section of the hospital. In 2015 major repairing took place in the department.

The structure of the department:

• Dressing room
• Gypsum room
• Procedure room
• 9 chambers for patients

The operating room is on the 2nd floor of the operational block of the surgical section.

Non-stop reception of emergency traumatology patients is functioning on the basis of the reception department. The emergency help is performed round-the clock by the doctor on duty.

The ambulatory care to the patients of orthopedic and traumatological profile is performed in traumatology offices of the polyclinic of healthcare institution «Kalinkovichi Central district hospital».

Work volume

About 400 orthopedic and trauma surgeries are performed every year.

The number of treated patients is about 800 a year.

List of surgical procedures

1. Osteosynthesis of bones by various methods:
   • Bone osteosynthesis with the help of plates and screws (including plates with angular stability).
   • Osteosynthesis with the help of spoke-rod apparatus of external fixation ( Illizarov apparatus)
   • Osteosynthesis with the help of intramedullary pins
   • Osteosynthesis of the proximal femur (cannulated screws DHS, DCS constructions, PFN)
2. Plastic surgeries of wrist tendons and large tendons ( Achilles tendon, biceps)
3. Correcting surgeries in case of orthopedic pathology ( Hallux valgus, hammer and mallet finger deformations)
