Department of ultrasound diagnostics

Ultrasound diagnostics is considered one of the leading research methods as it is very informative, non-invasive and quick activity that can be performed several times without any harm to patients health.

The structural division of «Kalinkovichi Central District Hospital» department of ultrasound diagnostics formed as a separate structural subdivision in 2011. The admission is carried out in the «District polyclinic» -offices: №121, №129, №130,  antenatal department- office №7, on the 2nd floor of the therapeutic section-ultrasound diagnostics cabinet.

The medical staff-8 people among which 4 people have the 1st qualification category.

The department is equipped with ultrasound apparatus made by leading producers SАМSUNG МЕDISОN, АLОКА SSD-3500, which guarantee the high quality of the research.

Scheduled examinations are held according the appointment and  prescription of the doctor. The paid examination may take place at patients request.

The researches performed:

Ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space

Liver and gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and adrenal glands, abdominal aortic

Ultrasound examination of the smaller pelvic organs

Bladder, prostate (transabdominal, transrectal), of the scrotum, uterus, appendages (transabdominal, transvaginal), fetus

Ultrasound examination of other organs

The thyroid gland, mammary glands, salivary glands, soft tissue, peripheral lymph nodes, pleural cavities

Ultrasound examination of the heart and blood vessels

Echocardiography with Doppler analysis, color mapping, duplex scanning of brachiocephalic arteries

Preparing procedures:

  • Ultrasound diagnostics of the abdominal organs should be carried out on completely empty stomach. If the research takes place in the second half of the day the last food meal should be taken more than 6 hours earlier and the liquid consumption should stop 2 hours before the procedure. It is forbidden to perform ultrasound diagnostics straight after fibrogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, X-rays.
  • The ultrasound diagnostics of the bladder and prostate are carried out on the full bladder. It is recommended to drink 1 liter of liquid 1 hour before the procedure and not to urinate.
  • Smaller pelvic organs diagnostics. If the transvaginal research is planned it is recommended to empty the bladder before the procedure. For transabdominal research the bladder is ought to be full.
  • Other kinds of research do not require any preparations.
